You have shown us so much love, my co-host Lisa Lisa and Icy Spike feel the love as much as I do, which means you have shown the Underground Artist that we play much LOVE. You can’t imagine how it feels to know that you’ve created not only something special, but something special that makes people feel good. I am so grateful and jazzed to be able to share with each of YOU the enormous amount of talented artists from around the country who are on their grind making great music. These artists truly appreciate there is now an “only about the talent” mechanism for them to be heard by so many music lovers from around the country.
Here at the Kareemah El-Amin & The Straight No Chaser Team, we pride ourselves on picking artist based solely on talent. Our belief is that YOU tell us what’s HOT not the other way around. But most of all we ask artist to send us their MUSIC and their BIO. WE DON’T NEED OUR WANT THEIR PICTURE. Because we know our fans appreciate true talent, not cookie cutter models that lack originality and style. We also know our fans, are like us in it doesn’t matter what you look like; when we press PLAY all you want is the music to be slamming.
Another thing we pride ourselves on is our philosophy on being more than just a radio show, we consider ourselves and ENTERTAINMENT show. Each week we have the most creative and unique segments. A “just things you need to know” segment “Miss Mayfield’s Marvelous Moments” with Austyn Mayfiled, the “Turn it or Burn it” segment where we play underground artists and listeners call in and decide whether the song gets “turned” on the next week’s program, and what’s ”Sizzilin in Hotlanta” with Zina B. bringing the hottest celebrity interviews, gossip and “what’s next” projects from the entertainment mecca of Atlanta.
